There are plenty of things to do in the city. Shopping opportunities are in abundance. Little shops, multi-cuisine restaurants, and small businesses line the streets of Manitou Avenue. Here are some of the many things you can do in the city:
● Explore the Outdoors – Manitou Springs has no shortage of natural beauty and an abundance of trails and parks located all around. The Garden of the Gods is only five miles away, while the Red Mountain and the Incline are certain to get your blood pumping for a hike.
● Quench Your Thirst with the Healing Water’ – There are plenty of springs found around the city, which have many attractions of their own and trails that run on for miles. Head to the 7 Minute Spring or the Shoshone Spring to quench your thirst after a tiring day.
● Explore the Cave of the Winds– Located in Mountain Park, the underground caverns are perfect for exploring and runs far into the mountain range, offering a peek of the past.
● Have Fun at the Festivals– Many festivals occur monthly or annually in the city, such as the famous wine festival and art festival. The Annual MeadowGrass Festival is also perfect for relaxing on the grass and taking in views of the snow-glazed mountain peaks.

August and September are pleasant months in the city, while December and January are the least enjoyable, with winter lows dropping to 17 degrees. June and July tend to be on the hotter side, with temperatures of 84 degrees. However, the residents also enjoy 19 inches of rain annually.
Education
The Manitou Springs Schools District 14 serves Manitou Springs and includes the Manitou Springs Elementary School, Middle School, and High School.
Since Colorado Springs is located only 12 minutes away from the city, students can access some of the best schools, such as the Colorado Springs Schools, Cheyenne Mountain Elementary, the University School, and the Vanguard School. There are plenty of religious and private schools, as well as in the Colorado Springs School District.
Public Transportation
The Mountain Metropolitan Transit serves as the public transportation for Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. It has routes to Colorado and nearby destinations, such as Hillside, Cascade, and Pikes Peak Avenue.
The Colorado Springs Government also has a shuttle that runs through Manitou and provides access to nearby cities.
The closest airport is the Colorado Springs Airport, roughly 16.3 miles away from the heart of the city, while the Springs East Airport is 31.2 miles away.
